Viewing and Editing People
Each person profile in Related Faces brings together the information you’ve assigned, from general descriptors to known names, and links those to the faces you’ve confirmed as belonging to that individual. You can view and edit these profiles anytime.
Viewing People
To browse your collection:
Go to the My People page
You’ll see a grid of all people you’ve created, with profile photos and names (if provided)
Use filters to quickly find named, unnamed, or recently added individuals
Inside a Person Profile
Clicking a person opens their profile page, which includes:
A general descriptor or name
Optional biographical data (like birth and death info)
A list of faces you’ve assigned to this person
Access to any matches they’ve made across the system
🟣 The left-hand panel shows all data fields, including location, military service, and custom identifiers
Editing a Profile
To make changes:
Click Edit in the bottom-left corner of the profile panel
Update any fields you’d like to change — name, gender, location, etc.
Save your changes to update the profile
Confirming or Fixing Face Assignments
If a face was incorrectly assigned to a person:
Open the photo, click the face, and reassign it to a different person
You can also do this from the Upload Flow
⚠️ You cannot assign the same person to multiple faces in the same photo
Reviewing Matches & Pairings
From the Pairings tab inside a person’s profile, you’ll see all suggested matches between this individual and others across the system.
You can filter your pairings by:
All Pairings
Own Photos
Other Users
Library of Congress
You’ll also see Uncertain (marked as “maybe”) and Declined matches that you’ve reviewed.
Merging or Matching People
If you click into a match, you’ll see a side-by-side comparison of the two profiles — including their assigned faces and known data. From here, you can choose to:
Match (confirm they’re the same person)
Mark as Uncertain
Decline (hide the match)
