Can I Delete a Photo or Face?
Right now, users don’t have the ability to delete photos or faces themselves. This is intentional, most users want to preserve every image, even ones that aren’t perfect.
That said, we do have a process in place for rare exceptions.
Why Can’t I Delete Something?
Related Faces is designed as a long-term archival and research tool. Deleting content can accidentally break important connections, including:
Existing pairings
Match histories
Shared discoveries between users
We’ve found that most images become more useful over time, even if they don’t seem helpful right away.
When We Do Delete
Deletions are extremely rare and only happen for reasons like:
Offensive or inappropriate content (e.g. nudity or violence)
Clear copyright violations
Duplicate uploads in limited cases
If you believe a photo falls into one of these categories, please contact us and we’ll review it manually.
What You Can Do Instead
Rename or annotate the photo to flag it for your own organization
Move it into a box for unused or archival images
Ignore unmatched faces, they won’t impact your results if left alone
💡 Photos with no matches or people assigned won’t affect your future matches unless you act on them.
